The Tube:
This fluorescent reflective tube is perfect for cyclists and runners alike. Good for light summer wear with shorts or over a legging in winter. There is no zip in it. The Tube can also be worn on the arm while on the bike, running or walking.
Size – is universal, unstriched it measures 30cm, however, the max circumference is about 41cm (16inches) so its fairly skin-tight. The length is 35cm (14inches). Do not over-stretch the material or you may put it under too much stress and the stiching may lose its flexibility, rip or undo.
All are made of lycra and nylon so there is reasonable flexibility built in. As there is no zip in this one it slips on best if you are wearing a sock. Take it off gently by peeling it off the lower leg. Wash in cold water and non-biological detergent.
Colours – high vis fluorescent yellow, green, blue, pink and orange; all have a reflective strip front and back.
As vehicle lights are dipped and turned slightly towards the verge or pavement and as the lower leg is in motion the reflective strips deflect the vehicle lights back to the driver. They reflect at a much greater distance than any other item on your bike or person due to their position and the motion of the leg. This is something we do not see unless we are the ones behind the wheel.
